Sustainable Development Goals: Mediterranean opportunities

In September 2015, the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identifying 17 priority development objectives.In the Mediterranean region, CIHEAM is invested for many years on the majority of these objectives.Protecting the planet, access to food for all, inclusive development and crisis prevention, in particular through investment in youth, are the core activities of its Strategic Agenda 2025.

In this publication CIHEAM wanted to ask a Mediterranean look at three issues: food security, agriculture's resilience to climate change and multilateral partnerships.




Land and sea: essential resources for the Mediterranean

The year 2015 marked the 20th anniversary of the Barcelona Declaration which gave birth to the Euro-Mediterranean partnership. Access to natural resources and food remains today at the heart of the debate. This book analyses the socio -economic potential of agricultural and fisheries sectors, our eating habits and our social and environmental responsibility. (Articles in French and English)
