MEDITERRA

Published every two years in English and in French, Mediterra is CIHEAM’s flag ship publication. It provides an in-depth analysis of the major challenges related to agriculture, food and rural areas in the Mediterranean. Published in 2014, the 14th edition of this report was devoted to agro-food trade dynamics and logistics challenges. In 2012, the report focused on the Mediterranean diet as a model for sustainable development in the Mediterranean. Since its modernization in 2007 and the partnership with a renowned publisher (Presses de Sciences-Po in Paris), Mediterra has mobilized more than 200 experts, with a hundred articles published in the framework of the six reports released over the period. Some editions have also been translated into Arabic, Spanish and Italian. The publication is referenced and available for free access on the online publishing platform Cairn. Mediterra is directed and coordinated by the CIHEAM headquarters.

The 2016 of Mediterra, conducted in full partnership with the FAO, is in line with the objectives of the CIHEAM Strategic Agenda 2025 will focus on “Struggling against triple waste”: Food waste, natural resources waste and knowledge and know-how waste. The publication is scheduled for September 2016.
